Monju Area-

The Bath of the Gods~ Amanohashidate Hot Spring, Chie no Yu

 

Also known as “The Beauty Bath”, Chie no Yu Hot Spring is known to have good effects on skin health and beauty. The hot spring is located next to Amanohashidate Station and is Miyazu`s only outdoor hot spring.

The hot spring was named Chie no Yu, or “The Bath of Wisdom” after the Monju Bosatsu (Bodhisattva of Wisdom) who is enshrined at Chionji Temple, known for the famous proverb, “When three gather, their collective wisdom equals that of the Monju Bosatsu” (Meaning the same as “three heads are better than one”), in hopes that visitors would be blessed with wisdom and good health.  Please come soak in our hot spring to revive both your body and your mind.

Hours: 12:00 pm~9 pm (Closes at 10 pm)

Price: Junior High School Students and Above 700 Yen, Elementary School Students 350 Yen

※Small children are free

※Our foot bath cannot currently be used as it is under inspection.

※Open during the Obon Festival, Golden Week, and national holidays

※The male and female baths change every other day.

※The hot spring doesn’t have its own parking lot. Please use either the surrounding parking lots (parking fee required) or public transportation.

*There is a special discount available for guests traveling by train (KTR-Kyoto Tango Railway).

・Please get a proof of boarding pass at the station ticket gate and show it to us upon arrival.

*There is also a special discount for guests who use the Monju, Amanohashidate area parking lot and present their parking ticket upon arrival.

・The ticket must be shown before paying or it will be considered invalid.

・Only one ticket can be used per person.

・The ticket cannot be used in combination with any other tickets or services.

・Discount refunds are not available for guests with pre-bought tickets.

 

Amanohashidate Hot Spring, Amanohashidate Onsen

 

A hot spring that sprang up here in the land where the gods Izanami no Mikoto and Izanagi no Mikoto played. Amanohashidate Hot Spring is a chloride spring containing a high concentration of Magnesium ions that are said to have a slimming effect on visitors.

Miyazu Area-

Miyazu Pinto Hot Spring, Miyazu Onsen Pinto Yu

 

Famous for being Kyoto Prefecture`s first sulfur spring, the hot spring is named after the lyrics of the Miyazu folk song, Miyazu-bushi. “Pin” is said to have many meanings such as “upmost”, “happy and healthy”, “money”, and “beautiful”.

Kunda, Yura Area-

Yurayura Hot Spring, Yurayura Onsen

A hot spring located near the scenic Nagu Beach and many other famous historical spots.

Health Benefits: Relief for nerve pain, muscle pain, joint pain, chronic digestive diseases, hemorrhoids, poor circulation, chronic skin diseases, and chronic female disorders.  The spring is also said to strengthen people with weak constitutions, help people recover from fatigue, and to improve overall health.

Fuchu Area-

Nariai Kannon Hot Spring, Nariai Kannon Onsen

A spring flowing from the base of Mt. Nariai, land of the scape-goat Kannon Bosatsu (Bodhisattva).
