Amanohashidate Monjudo Boat Departure Festival 2025

At the illuminated Chion-ji Temple, a Monju-e ceremony will be held and a Manto-e ceremony will be held with dragon lanterns. A night cruise and Miyazu Bay fireworks will also be held at the same time.

1. Chion-ji Temple Illumination
– Illumination of the temple grounds from the approach to the main hall, etc.
2. Dragon Lanterns
– A Manto-e event where dragon lanterns are hung along the coast based on the legend of the subjugation of an evil dragon.
3. Lighting of Manto (Dragon Lanterns)
– Dragon lanterns are hung near Chion-ji Temple beach, and the Amanohashidate Canal is lit up underwater to create a Manto-e event.
4. Operation of Amanohashidate Night (Dragon Lantern) Cruise
– A guided dragon lantern cruise is operated in accordance with the origin of the boat being launched to welcome Manjusri Bodhisattva. You can also enjoy watching the fireworks.
5. Fireworks (Tento)
– 150 fireworks (Tento) are launched from the illuminated sands of Amanohashidate.
6. Manjusri Ceremony

*Chionji Temple is lit up until 21:00
