Chie no Wa Stone Lantern
The Chie no Wa (Circle of Wisdom) lantern was originally used to guide ships at sea. It now stands on the shore as a monument praying for the safety of those who cross the Monju waters.
It is said that you can become wise by passing through the lantern three times. However, it is dangerous to attempt to climb through the lantern so instead, people put just their head through the hole of the lantern or walk around it three times.
