Takigami Park

Takigami Park is great for people of all ages located at the bottom of Mt. Takigami.  It is especially known for its flowers: cherry blossoms and azaleas.  In early-mid April, cherry blossoms bloom in the park and many people have hana-mi (cherry blossom viewing) picnics beneath the trees. The park also hosts an annual cherry blossom festival every April.

Shortly after the cherry blossoms finish blooming, the sides of Mt. Takigami are colored by azaleas, the city flower of Miyazu.  Visitors can climb the mountain while gazing at the beauty of the azaleas.  At the top of the mountain, there is a look-out point from which you can get a good view of Miyazu Bay and Amanohashidate.
